History

Every October 31, Creole Song Day is celebrated in Peru and the Center of Peruvian Arts with the group Acuarela Criolla of Anibal Bellido, considered the first Peruvian guitar in Chicago, seeks to disseminate Peruvian Creole art and promote the manifestations of this through music, dance and culinary art. According to the history of Peru, it was in 1944 that President Manuel Prado Ugarteche established the commemoration of Creole Song Day on October 31, through a supreme resolution, considering stimulating this demonstration that strengthens our national identity. Creole music was forged in the popular neighborhood of Barrios Altos, El Rímac and La Victoria, in the first decades of the 20th century and to this day this Creole culture is preserved, promoted and disseminated.
