After-school programming serves as a creative outlet for students who take a particular interest in the performing arts. Our typical after-school program operates on a two-semester structure, fall and spring, with one or two-hour rehearsals, once a week or more, each semester. Rehearsals include rotating workshops in dance, and music as well as full cast activities. Our Program is very concentrate in promote the Latin American Folk Dance culture for community educational as students, teachers and parents.

Two curriculum options

Our program prioritizes building self-esteem through social emotional learning, and we offer skill building, creativity, and history telling. These classes have a curriculum relative with the arts components and values. develop each lesson plan. We have data and bibliography resources relate with each culture to learn.

1. Dance classes.

Consists of 12 classes of skill-focused lessons in dance per semester, concluding in a sample of what the kids have learned. This focus emphasizes personal growth in specific skills such as character development, and confidence in movement, etc.

2. Dance classes and performance.

Consists of 12 rehearsals that are centered around a scripted play and conclude in a fully produced production with sound, costumes, hair, and makeup. Featuring song, dance, and drama workshops as well as run throughs of the show, this focus introduces students to the ins and outs of staging a show and encourages them to work toward a common goal.

Pricing

After school programs can either be parent paid (enrollment based), funded through the school with grants, the PTA, or fundraising, or a combination of parent paid and school funding.

After school programs start at $160 per hour without traditional attire (Pricing varies based on location, length, and frequency of the program.)

DURING SCHOOL DAY

LATIN AMERICAN FOLK DANCE PROGRAM

This program offers classes to students from the elementary school from kindergarten to the 8th grade, transmitting not only the value of dance, but also focusing on culture of the country that they have to know through dance. This program consists of rehearsals during school hours or at other times that the institution decides. Attending 10 groups and staging the day of the presentation with typical costumes to more than 150 students promoting cultural values and developing the academic skills to be treated during the dance as the important social and community aspect.

 
 

Educational Cultural Workshop  

Arts workshops for all ages are offered, in various disciplines and expressions such as dance, music, theater, and visual arts. In our workshops, we encourage dynamic participation and the development of skills in collaboration, creative movement, and social awareness. The Peruvian cultural workshops have the objective of following the curriculum or lesson plan connected to the institution's topic to educate all participants, the lesson plans are focused on history, creativity, and cultural transmission. This program wants to find excellent outcomes using indigenous techniques and the personal experience of each participant. The workshops can be once or five times a week 45 or 60 minutes per workshop depending on the institution. The program count on qualified staff who provides enrichment activities during their visit.

Educational Cultural Performance

The performances are an important means of expressing Peruvian Indigenous heritage – past, present, and future adopting a ‘best practice’ approach and encouraging respect for the cultures of Indigenous. This performance expresses the native life through his or her relationship with land, waterways, animals, and plants, and his or her relationships with other people.

The performances incorporate different art forms based on the expressions of the Indigenous Peruvian people – ceremony, storytelling, celebration, mourning, coming together, and telling of events in Indigenous people’s lives, both past and present times, and divided into categories of traditional and contemporary.

In this transmission, the viewer can enjoy the conservation of the ceremonies, storytelling, preserving the language y some indigenous experiences. In this performance, we attribute to all Indigenous cultures, the source community, writers, actors, dancers, directors, designers, choreographers, technical personnel, and cultural consultants who contributed to the work at all stages. In this way, we can be continuing with the vision of the Indigenous people that have a responsibility to ensure that the practice and transmission of Indigenous cultural expression are continued for the benefit of future generations. The performances during 30 to 60 minutes depending on the organization and we can show the diversity of the cultures in Peru.


After School Programs

The after-school programs offer a combination of enrichment activities and experiences that may contribute more to youth development, academic attainment, and life success than one individual program. The programs will run  5 days a week and 3 hours a day and count with qualified staff who can help with the academic enrichment and some youth workers who provide recreational activities. Following the out-of-school time rules (OST) programs we consider having student control for the young and the evaluation of the outcomes and the program’s goals. Funds for these programs are paid by public funding and provide services to youth from low income.
